Tver

See also previous report (June 2022).

In Tver there is a good, but unkempt Zatmachie neighborhood. It has a lot of old intact or abandoned wooden houses

This for example was built at the beginning of the 19th century.

Few brick buildings.

The center of the neighborhood is White Trinity Church (1564). This is the oldest surviving building in Tver, during the soviet times it was the only open cathedral in the whole town.

Sculpture of a deer next to the church.

Recently built residential two-storey house near the church, which, due to its shabby condition, even begins to harmonize with the old surroundings.

Tablets with the names of the residents and the coat of arms of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

The plate of the year of construction of the house with bird surveillance.

Doors.

Garage of the house where the local artist Anatoly Kamardin used to live.

Modern street art.

The western part of Zatmachye is occupied by the buildings of the city hospital.

A dose of cat contempt.

Some murky "socialists" are calling for "anti-war resistance" and urge to fill out questionnaires with personal data. Looks like a provocation by the secret services.

Getting in (as of November 2022): direct fast tollway from Moscow or a train.
