Continuation of the trip along the road from Staritsa to Torzhok in Tver oblast. The first settlement when entering Torzhok district is the village of Bogatkovo. The wooden estate of the Rtishchevs, built in the 19th century, has been preserved here.
The main house is in good condition. It is clear that the house is being watched.
An old barn, also part of the estate.
A village with an estate of the Kaznakov nobles. The main house was built at the end of the 19th century, modeled after Italian villas. It has been abandoned for several decades.
Entrance from the side facade.
The steps are clearly not original, made from old gravestones, on one of them one can read "Evdokia Karna[shevskaya?]".
Behind the entrance, apparently, a movie was being filmed. Under the ceiling there was a wierd installation.
Hall on the first floor with a broken heating stove.
Almost all the ceilings and the stairs to the second floor collapsed.
Three abandoned annexes.
Extensions to one of them.
Cobblestone road.
Church of the Intercession (1692) being slowly recovered.
Belfry with bells made from gas cylinders.
The temple stocked up on firewood for the winter.
A stink bug.
A village with an impressive complex of two churches: Resurrection (1820) and Joy of All Who Sorrow (1904). They were closed in 1937 and were badly damaged during the WWII. Temporary roofs were recently installed to prevent them from falling apart completely,
The main entrances are guarded by dangerous hogweed.
But you can still walk inside. Interior of the Church of the Resurrection.
Fresco with Jesus in the altar.
The interior of the Church of Joy of All Who Sorrow.
Small cemetery.
River Tma (literally translated from Russian as "Darkness").
Getting in (as of June 2023): the road Staritsa - Bernovo - Torzok used to be one of the worst in Tver oblast, but now it is mostly excellent.
