The largest city in Vologda oblast and its industrial and commercial center famous for the Severstal steel plant. It also has a small old city center. I've been to Cherepovets before so this was just a brief stop for a dinner.

Sovetskiy avenue is being renovated.

 

Samovar museum got an architectural lighting.

 

But most old buildings like this restored fire depot still stay in the dark.

 

Getting in (as of February 2023): Cherepovets can be reached from Moscow by a direct plane or a sleeper train.
