Cherepovets

On the high bank of the Sheksna, approximately opposite the city center of Cherepovets, there is the Gorka estate. The main house was built in 1831 and survived nearly intact. It was recently renovated, with the turret on the roof being restored. It is now a museum.

On the territory of the museum there are two newly built wooden unconsecrated chapels. One is in the form of a gazebo.

 

The second is a stylization of Northern Russian wooden architecture.

 

There is a pogrom inside the latter.

 

The estate offers a view of the Cherepovets river port.

 

And to the Forestry Mechanical College (pre-revolutionary Alexander Technical School).

 

Getting in (as of August 2023): Cherepovets can be reached from Moscow by a direct plane or a sleeper train.
