Three villages in Kaliningrad oblast with abandoned old churches along the highway between Kaliningrad and Zheleznodorozhny.
Former Böttchersdorf. The local church was built almost in 1400, it was well preserved after the war, but it was already fallen into disrepair during perestroika.
Priest's house.
Few other old buildings.
Post office with bust of Lenin.
Former Allenau. The local church was also built at the beginning of the 15th century and also collapsed in the 1980s.
1887 on top is a year when the last big renewal took place.
Inside the tower.
Roofless interior.
Old German tiles and their imprints on the concrete floor.
Former Abschwangen. Renamed at the suggestion of Russian settlers who arrived here in 1946 from Tishino in Ryazan oblast (no such village left in Ryazan). The local church (mid-14th century) was originally built for a Catholic monastery, but after the reformation it became a parish church. It fell apart in the 2000s. In 2009, it was handed over to the Russian Orthodox Church, but no repairs took place.
Getting in (as of September 2022): direct road from Kaliningrad. The trip isn't possible without a car.
