Klin

An old town in Moscow oblast heavily damaged in WWII. Basically it looks like this.

Assumption church (16th century).

The Tchaikovsky State House-Museum. The main house was restored after WWII and a big fire in 2004.

Pre-revolutionary (or restored) plate with switchable elements. It tells that Tchaikovsky welcomes guests on Mondays and Thursdays from 3 to 5 o'clock. And now he's absent and there's no need to call.

It is difficult to agree the English spelling of Tchaikovsky's surname.

But Chinese language is even harder.

After WWII Trinity Cathedral was rebuilt into a house of culture, and now they are rebuilding it back into a temple. On one side, the outlines of the church are already visible.

On the other it is still a house of culture.

Former girl school.

Pre-revolutionary market.

All bus stops are equipped with propaganda.

Spiders.

Cats.

Getting in (as of September 2022): Klin can be easilly reached by suburban train from Moscow (they depart from Leningradskiy station). Take M-11 toll road or M-10 highway when travelling by car. The former can be congested.

Where to eat: The Nebo restaurant in a mall on Sovetskaya square.
