If you dare to use direct road Yuruevets - Lukh in Ivanovo oblast which is notoriously bad even by Russian standards, you'll be rewarded with the small village of Zobnino. Before the revolution, there was a factory that produced felt boots, "valenki". The factory is still standing and its building is even being restored.
The house of the factory owner, Timofey Meluznikov. I could not find information about his fate, but his brother was persecuted in the late 1930s.
The Assumption church (1818) is in ruins.
Pre-1917 shop is still open.
Mobile Internet is practically non-existent in Zobnino. But judging by the boxes of the Rostelecom company, cable Internet is available.
120 year old wooden shacks now with internet. Isn't it a miracle?
Where to stay (as of May 2022): if you are really desperate you can buy an old wooden house in Zobnino with a land lot. No mortgages, $1500-$2000 and it's yours, feel free to spend the night. You can't sell it later, of course.
Where to eat: if the house you bought has a refrigerator with food, you are saved. Otherwise nowhere.
What to buy: buying a local property will be the craziest investment of your life.
