Vaskino

 

Village in the Moscow region. It houses the Rozhdestveno estate, which was in the shade compared to the neighboring Melikhovo estate, where the famous Russian writer Anton Chekhov lived. Rozhdestveno, until recently, was occupied by the trade union rest house, but in the late 2010s it was closed. The building of the rest house has already been abandoned.

The main manor house was originally built in 1825, but in the 1960s it was demolished and rebuilt from concrete, keeping the dimensions and details.

 

Probably it's going to be restored.

 

At the same time, someone deliberately laid paths and flower beds asymmetrically to the porticos.

Church of the Nativity of the Virgin. Originally it was constructed in 1700. During the Soviet times everything above the lower tier were demolished, so it is mostly newly built.

 

Getting in (as of May 2023): turn to Melikhovo from M-2 highway. There are frequent buses №25 from Chekhov station.
