Nerekhta

 

A small town in Kostroma oblast with a compact historical center.

 

The flax mill is being prepared for transformation into a hipster den, or for a restart of production.

 

The new park overlooking the mill.

The temples are mostly in good condition.

Getting there (as of November 2023): about 45 minutes drive from Yaroslavl. Also there are few trains per day that reach Nerekhta in mere 30 minutes.

Where to eat: the Kofeynya na Bazarnoy is the best coffee shop in the town. Also you can buy a nice fresh bread in a bread factory's kiosk (Lenina street, 2).
