A nobility estate in the eastern part of Smolensk oblast. Its main building houses a museum dedicated to the famous Russian diplomat and a playwright Alexander Griboyedov. The manor was restored in the 1970s in the same form as it was at the end of the 18th century.
One of the annexes is a small museum of Russian admiral Pavel Nakhimov. The inner structure of a sailboat on its second floor resembles a fish skeleton.
Church of the Kazan Icon of Our Lady (1759-1767).
Another nobility estate to the south of Khmelita. There is a huge WWII memorial nearby, so a small military museum has been made in the former greenhouse's wing (all that remains of the estate) .
If you walk a little from the museum, there will be a slightly restored Church of the Smolensk Icon of Our Lady (1777-1782).
The temple is unmanned and operates in self-service mode.
Getting in (as of July 2023): nearly impossible to get here without car. However there is a direct road from Vyazma
