A small town in Kaliningrad oblast, known as Tapiau prior to 1946. Its old castle once belonged to Teutonic order but since 19th century was used as a prison. In 2021, all convicts were evicted to other prisons, and the castle now might be restored to its medieval state.

Getting in (as of September 2022): Excellent direct highway from Kaliningrad, frequent buses available. Railways could be the fastest way to get to Gvardeysk but unfortunately service is scarce.
