Volodarsk

A small town in the Nizhny Novgorod oblast. In the 1860s Bugrov family of Old Believers bought these places for debts from a Moscow nobleman. They built here one of the largest flour mills in the Russian Empire, which is still in operation.

One of the representatives of the merchant dynasty, Nikolai Bugrov, erected a small house in the neo-Russian style next to the factory. The name of the architect, as well as the exact date of construction are unknown. This is probably the early 1880s. The house is in excellent condition, inside there is a museum.

Some photos from a wide angle lens.

Details.

The old buildings are closer to the station.

A cat.

The school was built in 1937 with the inscription "Study, study and study" on the facade.

The center has been well landscaped.

There is even a walking route with a few sightseeing and an observation deck with a view to nowhere.

Getting in (as of June 2023): the train station in Volodarsk is named Seima but trains from Moscow don't stop here. You have to change train in Dzerzhinsk or Gorokhovets. Getting there by car is rather tiresome.
