Pokrov

A small town in Vladimir oblast with a noisy M-7 "Volga" highway and mud along it.

New buses en route from Tatarstan to Saint Petersburg.

Weird overpass which boasts as many as four elevators, but they are all for the disabled and the disability will be mandatory checked through the camera. No baby strollers or suitcases allowed.

McDonald's was closed in Russia since March 2022 but the hiring ad remained in place.

Police station with a kawaii lion on the coat of arms.

Typical Russian car fashion: "Lada Granta" with a lowered suspension.

Several beautiful pre-revolutionary buildings have been preserved a little further from the highway. Town administration.

Hospital.

Former men's gymnasium, currently children's art school.

Few other old mansions.

Pokrov's cat population is going to rise.

Vvedensky Island women monastery nearby. Recently it housed a "correctional facility for teenage girls with deviant behavior", but now it is completely transferred to the church.

No fishing and cars allowed on the bridge.

Restored monastery's church built in 1894.

New belfry.

Where to eat (as of August 2022): "Vkusno and tochka" (former McDonald's).

Where to stay: better travel further to Moscow or Vladimir.

What to buy: local speciality, Pokrov's pryanik near "Vkusno and tochka"
