Yes, there is a temple of war in Russia, and here it does not bother anyone. It is located in Moscow oblast in the town of Kubinka near the primary Russian military exhibition hall "Park Patriot". Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces is dedicated to Resurrection of Christ and also to Russian victory in WWII as well as other victories. It was consecrated in 2020.
I'd say the temple is focused on a pagan visitor. Approximately the same feeling of horror and awe should have been felt by a barbarian, getting into the main temples of Byzantium. The play of light, mosaics are incredible. Even if you call it kitsch, it's a well-made kitsch. At the opening, there was even a mosaic with President Putin and Defense Minister Shoigu, but Putin modestly asked to remove it.
The disguise of all kinds of cameras and smoke detectors is excellent. It's a military temple after all.
Mosaic dedicated to the "local conflicts" and a list of those conflicts with a slightly broken chronology (perhaps it was done intentionally). And yes, a free space has been left after "forcing Georgia to peace", "fighting international terrorism in Syria" and "Reunification of Crimea with Russia". Now it became clear what would be written there.
One may lose count of swastikas and hammers and sickles.
The altar from the upper temple is made of colored cast iron.
And the altar of the lower church is made of porcelain.
Porcelain benches.
Exterior details.
Lanterns around the cathedral look like missiles. Or the fascias.
If someone thinks that the temple has already been completed, then they are deeply mistaken. In March 2022 (what an unexpected coincidence), they began to build something very reminiscent of a triumphal arch in front of it. Formally, it is a "carillon", but we live in a time of euphemisms. Not war, but special military operation. Not quarantine, but self-isolation. So they are waiting for a triumph.
Getting in (as of July 2022): The cathedral is located next to M1 highway before reaching Kubinka. Beware the serious congestion on weekends. Two buses an hour from Kubinka railway station.
Where to eat: Overpriced venues near the parking lot.
