Tabibito.ru was originally a Russian-language travel photoblog, dedicated to trips to various European and Asian countries. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 panic, the borders were closed. Kafkaesque rules related to PCR tests, recognition and non-recognition of vaccines did not add enthusiasm for foreign travel, so only trips within Russia remained. Mostly by car.
Foreign tourism in Russia has become completely exotic, but in a situation where no one composes guidebooks anymore, and almost all travel bloggers have switched to Youtube, which is inconvenient for many, my reports might help in planning trips.
The English version of tabibito.ru aims to acquaint the foreign reader with the non-tourist side of Russia and Belarus, small towns where few people go, or not the most famous parts of popular cities such as St. Petersburg or Moscow. There will be neither rosy propaganda, nor a deliberate search for dirty places and devastation. Just Russia and Belarus as they are.
